The 3-digit security number on the back of the card, is a truly daft flaw on the way credit cards work, as knowledge of the rest of the details plus that 3-digit number is all you need to order stuff on-line. Suppliers are supposed to deliver only to the address of the card holder, but many do not comply, so you can lose out on this. Also if you let your card out of your sight such as in a resturant, you do not know if they are copying down all of the details including the 3-digit security code. For this reason I have now made a separate note of my cards' security codes, a list which I keep at home and I have covered the code on the card with a little smiley sticker, being careful that I do not obstruct the magnetic stripe. Bill.
